Baltimore Medical System Welcomes New Center Medical Director at Middlesex

BALTIMORE, MD – Baltimore Medical System (BMS) is pleased to welcome Dr. Cesar Arias to their Middlesex location as its new Center Medical Director. Baltimore Medical System is the largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Maryland, serving more than 50,000 patients annually across six health care centers, eight school-based health centers and four on-site pharmacies.

Dr. Arias is a board-certified pediatrician and bilingual in English and Spanish.  Dr. Arias attended Universidad Central Del Este in the Dominican Republic for medical school and has experience in treating patients with asthma. As Center Medical Director, Dr. Arias will continue to facilitate access to care and ensure patient receive quality care by a dedicated team. Middlesex is currently the only FQHC located in Baltimore County.  Dr. Arias hopes to expand partnerships with the community to enhance their collective health and wellbeing.

“In my role as Center Medical Director, I have been given the precious opportunity to impact the health of the communities surrounding our center. It is my privilege to help our patients receive excellent and compassionate care. As a pediatrician who speaks fluent Spanish, one of my goals is to provide access to a pediatrician for the local, Spanish speaking population. I am focused on helping the center expand so we can care for the greatest number of patients possible. We have a great team and family at Middlesex.  I would like all our patients to benefit from the high quality of care that we provide as a patient centered medical home.”

Dr. Arias provides administrative and medical oversight to Baltimore Medical System at Middlesex and currently sees patients at the Orleans Square location. These centers provide a range of services including primary care, pediatrics, ob/GYN, behavioral health, extended hours and an on-site pharmacy.  Baltimore Medical System has become the provider of choice for a growing population of new immigrants in the Baltimore area.
