School Based Health Centers

Baltimore Medical System partners with local schools to provide on-site healthcare through our School-Based Health Centers (SBHCs). Our goal is to ensure students stay healthy, in class, and ready to learn — because good health is essential to academic success.

Information for Parents

Baltimore Medical System has provided health services in selected Baltimore City public schools since 1987. We are a partner in your child’s health. We provide a very wide range of services. Here are just a few of our services:

Sports physicals
Annual well-child exams
Shots / vaccinations
Health and nutrition education
Pregnancy prevention
Delivering your child’s medications to school
Treating common illnesses like ear infections and strep throat

Now, you don’t have to take off of work for routine care. We provide these services in your child’s school. This also helps you save money. You no longer have to pay for expensive night-time care for minor health concerns.

We see your children every day and get to know them personally. We teach them about health issues such as obesity, heart disease and high blood pressure. Also, many students come to us about peer pressure. They trust us to help them with issues such as alcohol, illegal drugs and sex.
