Baltimore, Md. — Baltimore Medical System (BMS) today announced the appointment of Ursula McClymont, MD, as Interim President & Chief Executive Officer. A highly respected physician, educator, and healthcare executive, Dr. McClymont brings more than 20 years of clinical and executive leadership experience to the role.
Her appointment reflects the Board of Trustees’ confidence in her leadership and reaffirms BMS’s commitment to providing exceptional, patient-centered healthcare while advancing its mission of creating healthier futures for Baltimore’s communities.

Dr. McClymont joined Baltimore Medical System in 2004 as a family physician after beginning her clinical career in 2000. Over the past two decades, she has served in several key leadership roles, including Center Medical Director, Vice President of Medical Affairs, and Chief Medical Officer.
Throughout her tenure, she has earned the respect of colleagues, patients, and community partners through her unwavering commitment to clinical excellence, compassionate care, physician leadership, and improving health outcomes for Baltimore’s underserved communities.
A Career Rooted in Clinical Excellence
A board-certified family physician, Dr. McClymont earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Howard University and her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Family and Community Medicine at the University of Maryland and a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Union Memorial Hospital.
In addition to her executive leadership responsibilities, she serves as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where she mentors future physicians and remains committed to advancing excellence in primary care.
