Make sure your contact information is up to date with Maryland Health Connection. When it’s your turn to renew, you will receive a notice in the mail or through your online account.

During the COVID-19 public health emergency, Marylanders who were enrolled in Medicaid continued to be covered, even if they were no longer eligible.
When a participant needs to renew their Medicaid coverage, they will receive a notice from Maryland Health Connection or the Department of Human Services in their account or in the mail when it’s their time to renew.

Update their contact information. Make sure Maryland Health Connection or myMDTHINK has their current mailing address, phone number and email. This way, they will be able to receive important information about their coverage.

- Participants can also call or visit their local Department of Social Services or local health department.
Marylanders who have Medicaid coverage through myMDTHINK because they are aged, blind, or disabled, or they are enrolled in a Home and Community-Based Services program can update their contact information three ways: online, by phone, or in person.
- To update contact information online, log in to your account at mymdthink.maryland.gov and update your address, phone number and email.
- You can also call the DHS Call Center at 800-332-6347. Help is available in more than 200 languages. Deaf and hard of hearing use Relay service.
- You can also call or visit your local Department of Social Services or your local health department.

Participants should watch for communications from Maryland Health Connection. Not everyone will be up for renewal at the same time. Participants will receive a notice in the mail or in their online account when it’s time to renew. When they get their notice, they will have 45 days to respond.
Participants who don’t receive their coverage through Maryland Health Connection should watch for communications from the Department of Human Services. When they get their notice, they will have 60 days to respond.

If participants are no longer eligible for Medicaid, low-cost health insurance options are available. Participants can enroll through Maryland Health Connection within 60 days of losing their health coverage.

Participants will qualify for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) to enroll in new coverage. The SEP starts when they have been notified that your Medicaid coverage is ending, and ends July 31, 2024.
