Shannon Osborne, M.D., is a clinical instructor in the Johns Hopkins Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics. Her areas of clinical expertise include general gynecology and obstetrics, high-risk obstetrics, labor and delivery, perinatal palliative care and perinatal loss.
Dr. Osborne received her undergraduate degree in biology from North Carolina State University. She then earned her medical degree from East Carolina University and completed both an internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Virginia.
Her research interests include palliative care for gynecology and obstetrics and the development of curriculum for Gyn/Ob palliative care education, as well as providing comprehensive care for patients with pregnancies affected by life-limiting conditions. Dr. Osborne received the 2021 Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine Residency Program Award for Excellence in Obstetrics, the 2022 American Urogynecologic Society Award for Excellence in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, and the 2023 Society for Academic Specialists in General Obstetrics and Gynecology Resident Award.
