Baltimore Medical System Welcomes New Center Medical Director at Saint Agnes

BALTIMORE, MD – February [x], 2018 – Baltimore Medical System (BMS) is pleased to welcome Dr. Monique Rainford to their Saint Agnes location as its new Center Medical Director (CMD). Dr. Rainford began her time with BMS in January. Baltimore Medical System is the largest Federally Qualified Health System in Maryland, serving more than 49,000 patients annually across six health care centers, eight school-based health centers and four on-site pharmacies.

Dr. Rainford is an award-winning academic and practitioner, having graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard Medical School with a specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Rainford is also a prolific writer, public speaker, and Lifestyle Medicine advocate who has committed herself to aiding communities in need, including those in Jamaica, Honduras, Washington DC, Fort Lauderdale, and now Baltimore.

Dr. Rainford provides administrative and medical oversight to Baltimore Medical System at Saint Agnes and Pine Heights, both located on the Saint Agnes Hospital campus. These centers provide a range of services including primary care, pediatrics, ob/GYN, behavioral health, extended hours and an on-site pharmacy.  Baltimore Medical System has become the provider of choice for a growing population of new immigrants in the Baltimore area. Baltimore Medical System centers including Saint Agnes and Pine Heights are culturally competent and include a robust interpreter services program.

As Center Medical Director, Dr. Rainford will continue to facilitate the improvement of access to care and the quality of care provided by BMS at both Saint Agnes and Pine Heights. She also hopes to expand partnerships with the community to enhance their collective health and wellbeing.

Patients and families served by BMS at Saint Agnes will continue to access an entire team of healthcare providers, mental health counselors, extended hours and in-house pharmacies as part of their above-and-beyond care.
